CHOICES – HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY?

The choices we make through our lives mould us into who we become, what we do, and the successes we have. As I write this we are – hopefully – at the back end of a pandemic that has disrupted all of our lives in some way. Let us focus though on the business choices we make, and will have made to this point in time.

Granted, I don’t think anyone could have forecast the worldwide disruption we are currently going through but we were due a recession. In the 38 years since I first started in business, there have been 3 or 4 recessions – some hitting harder than others but on an average, every 10 or 12 years there will be something that will come along and rock our boat and our lives. So you could say this current recession/pandemic was due.

Any of us who have been in business for a number of years really should not have an excuse for not being prepared for where we are today. Planning is vital. The choices we make in our lives are vital. As the quote from Zig Ziglar above says, “The choices we make today will determine what we have, be and do tomorrow” So the same applies on the decisions we have made in the past – “The choices we made yesterday have determined what we have and where we are today.”

Business owners have to be constantly reinventing themselves, and changing the way they do things or they will be left behind. We are in an era of constant change. If we are doing the same thing this year that we did last year, we are probably going backwards. We have to look for new opportunities – always. We are always told to spend time working ON our businesses, and at times this can be so difficult – but it is vital. Also we are all too close to our own businesses that we cannot see what someone else who has no involvement in our business can see. So my advice to you here is ask for HELP, but please ask the right people. Ask people who have been through this before and know what to do and how to get through it. So many people will offer help for free but also expect to pay for this advice, as with the right person on your team, it will add value to your business.

I do a lot of networking and have done for over 30 years, and this is how I built my database of contacts – those who could add value to my business. Without them there is no doubt I would not have achieved what I have achieved in my life. In the same way as when we take on a member of staff, we should check the credentials of those we outsource to. We are looking for our Knight in shining armour but if we are not careful, we will end up with an imposter wrapped in tin foil.

I am happy to speak to any business owner out there who is really struggling and needs help. I will give you 8 hours of my time to you for FREE – over a period of weeks or months, and I am confident I can add something of value to your business, as I have been through most things most business owners are going through and I can tell and show you how I got through it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so reach out and make contact with me.
